We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as the VP, Chief Ethics Officer. In this position, you will report to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. You also will be a member of the CEO s Senior Leadership Team. You will provide independent, strategic advice and direction on a wide range of issues across the BAE Systems, Inc. enterprise while helping drive the development of enterprise policies and procedures.
This position is part of the Legal Department, an enthusiastic and highly productive team, where you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and work on challenging projects. Key responsibilities: - Lead the Company's global ethics & compliance program in a dynamic and evolving regulatory landscape.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, General Counsel, and leadership team of the Company, providing expertise and guidance on ethics, compliance, and risk management.
- Lead a comprehensive ethics program that fosters a culture of integrity, accountability, and transparency across the organization.
- Ensure the ethics program aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and communicate policies, procedures, and standards to employees, leadership, and stakeholders.
- Design and develop a company-wide training, engagement and communication strategy for ethics, risk and compliance initiatives including messaging, websites, town halls, workshops, newsletters.
- Provide input into and implement our Global Code of Conduct.
- Oversee the investigation and evaluation of allegations of policy and legal violations.
- Provide quarterly reporting on key trends and issues which may be developing, such as in specific locations or in specific functional areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ethics into business decision-making and operations.
- Foster a culture of ethics and integrity across the organization, promoting a speak-up environment and encouraging employees to report concerns.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate ethics and compliance risks, working closely with legal, internal audit, human resources and risk management teams.
- Help ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain an anonymous reporting system to report misconduct without fear of retaliation.
- Conduct root cause analyses when necessary and develop and ensure implementation of corrective action plans.
- Analyze and drive business value from multiple sources of data, including but not limited to:
- Ethics and compliance incident reports
- Audit and risk assessments
- Employee engagement and culture surveys
- Regulatory and industry trends
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the CEO, General Counsel, and leadership team on ethics and compliance risks, trends, and best practices.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required Education, Skills, and Experience: - Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, MA) preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in ethics, compliance, risk management, or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and influencing skills
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and industry standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience: - Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Experience leading an ethics, human resources, legal or regulatory program
- Experience working within and leading a global team
- Familiarity with data management and analytics tools
- Experience advising senior leadership teams

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $196296 - $333704
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
