FAA Quality Inspector 2 (FAA Safety Sensitive) - $19-$24/hr.

Location: Tucson, AZ

Direct Hire | 1st Shift | Safety Sensitive Role 

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector 2 inspects a wide variety of components, parts, and products to ensure compliance with all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions. This is a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our aerospace products.

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct examinations and quality control inspections throughout the production process.
• Gather statistical data on products and processes.
• Perform visual inspections of soldered connections and mechanical inspections of assemblies.
• Inspect soldered assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards and harness assemblies.
• Prepare and complete documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected items.
• Identify and report quality concerns and process inefficiencies.
• Inspect engineering designs, assemblies, parts, final assemblies, and tooling.
• Read, write, and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Use various measuring devices (gauges, calipers, rulers) with accuracy and precision.
• Prepare certifications according to regulations.
• Maintain both hard copy and electronic records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance (may include nights, weekends, and overtime).

Physical Requirements:

• Primarily sedentary (90% sitting, 10% standing/walking).
• Continuous visual inspections (with and without magnification).
• Use of hand tools and measuring devices.
• Fine motor skills and dexterity.
• Lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Visual acuity of 20/25 in at least one eye (corrected or uncorrected).

Job Specifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience (aerospace and electronics preferred).

Skills:

• Ability to follow instructions and procedures independently.
• Systematic QA approach and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with measuring and testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Proficient computer skills.
